I’ve decided to devote #TipTuesday in March to how to Kick-Start a #Smallbiz so at the end of the month you’ll have the 5 Critical Steps to Kick-Start a #Smallbiz. It may seem counterintuitive to start a new business endeavor during a career transition but it can position you with an income the next time you find yourself in transition. There’s no telling when you could be in career transition again so now may be the perfect time to start your business.
I’ve had a business on and off for over a decade. The name has changed and I’ve tweaked the focus (personal branding) and delivery of my services but it’s still been MY business (passion). In the past I’ve been busy with another career, so the business took a backseat. This time, I’m all in and that’s slightly scary – ok, it’s extremely scary. I’m my own social media & marketing department, editorial department, administrative department…you get the idea. That doesn’t take into account doing the business development and work to actually get paid – admittedly it’s a lot for one person but it’s empowering (dream big!). It’s a great way to surprise yourself by going beyond what you thought you could do and it feels great when you succeed!
I won’t make the list of the most successful business women in America, but every day I make a positive difference in the lives of my coaching clients and that’s a great list to be on (just do!)!
